I am a YoCo
Two of my co-workers enthusiastically returned from the American Association of Museums Conference last year [Boston] declaring me a YoCo. Clearly I need further explanation and they proceed to enlighten me about a seminar they attended by the NY and LA-based cultural arts marketing firm LaPlaca Cohen. Essentially a YoCo – a term coined by LaPlaca Cohen – refers to Young (or young at heart) Cosmopolitians who are well-traveled, multi-taskers, up on technology and attend cultural events more than most (as people “in the know”). . . Totally me. . . Check out this link to Catch the Buzz on YoCos (and LaPlaca Cohen’s work to attract younger audiences to museums).
