Street Art: Reykjavik
Besides having a great “main-stream” art scene, I also totally loved the street art I fell upon as I hopped between cool shops in Iceland. Unlike Berlin (more on Berlin next week), where it felt like straight up graffiti and tagging, there was a great style to what I saw in Reykjavik. Check out the entire “urban landscape” flickr set I created of my favorites… FYI, there’s also an entire book on the subject, called Ice Pick by Thordis Classen that really gives you a sense of the street scene from an insider perspective.
Also, special thanks to [Martha Stewart’s] Blueprint [magazine] Bluelines blog for featuring me in their post today for the Blueprint-inspired wine tasting party I threw back in September. I’m so excited!
