Turducken
For the past few years one Practice Thanksgiving has become one of my favorite holidays. Sure, I still celebrate Thanksgiving the traditional way with the fam on the actual day, but Practice Thanksgiving is when my group of friends gather together the weekend beforehand to celebrate our own way. Last year definitely took the cake with the creation of a “turducken” from scratch. The less than glamorous shots above give you a bit of a sense of what it’s like to construct a Thanksgiving feast that involves a chicken inside a duck inside a turkey (don’t worry, there are different kinds of meat inside each layer of homemade stuffing as well). Thankfully my friend Sarah is an experienced seamstress so it all came together flawlessly. . . I’m not sure which recipe we used, but here’s the link to one if you suddenly feel inspired.
Happy Practice Thanksgiving!
THIS JUST IN: Turns out this year we’re having a deep fried turkey!!!

Haha! Yeah, I must admit, we were all a little underwhelmed by the turducken, despite all the hooplah. It was a little to cajun for my liking. However, this year’s fried turkey was D-licious! Very moist. I highly recommend it!
