I’m cooking up something about Australian designers. It’s such a big country/continent, I don’t even know where to start. If you have any ideas/favorites, please post a comment below or shoot me an email! Thanks!!!!
Check out the blog the Design Files (http://www.thedesignfiles.net). It’s authored by Lucy, a props buyer/set dresser based out of Melbourne, and she profiles a lot of Australian artists and designers. She’s got a comprehensive list of labels for easy browsing.
Also, she’s currently living in Hong Kong, but Suzy of blog Studio Annetta (http://www.studioannetta.com) is an Australian designer. Even if you don’t use her, it’s a great blog to watch if you’re a fan of architecture and design!
Oh, I completely forgot that one of the travel magazines we write for Paperplane has a design (and also skate/surfer) bent… take a look at their online issues… http://www.paperplanemag.com/ I think. Production is currently on hold as they have some big news coming up, but from memory their archived issues are there and could be helpful.

Anna Spiro is AMAZING — I’m constantly in awe of her eye for beauty and what she posts. And her blog roll is long and plentiful.

Hi Anne,
I love your blog and check it out each day!
I’m sorry but I don’t know a lot on the aussie designers (now that I live away from home in London).
I wanted to let you know that you’ve missed out Tasmania from the map!!!! (the triangular island oiff of the SE coast).

Thanks for ALL the tips! (And sorry about leaving off Tasmania, it’s the internet’s fault ;) )
