The Color of Relgion
Every time I travel, I play a Where’s Waldo? of sorts game with myself. Normally I keep my eye out for gnomes, but I’m sad to say that I didn’t see any this trip (and I even foolishly left my own traveling gnome at home). So not to be sacrilegious by comparing garden gnomes to religious deities, but this go around, Buddha, his offerings, the vibrant yellows and oranges became the objects that my eyes were immediately drawn to.
Given Cambodia’s tumultuous past, there is a very peaceful, spiritual quality seeing Buddha as a regular part of your day. Most of these shots were from the Temples of Angkor Wat and a Buddha [concrete] “Factory” in Phnom Phen.
More from the Buddha collection here.
