Art Cars
This weekend I became nocturnal in order to beat the killer heat. I couldn’t muster the energy to conquer the daytime crowds of Artscape, but I still managed to catch a few highlights – the new DIY section with Charm City Craft Mafia and the Baltimore Etsy Street Team, the “freak show” (& photo booth) addition on the bridge over 83, and the debut of the movie Automorphosis, a fantastic documentary of some of the craziest art cars (and their owners) around – including my very favorite the Sashimi Tabernacle Choir (which took a trip up to Baltimore for the occasion). Yes, those are 250 wired, choreographed fish and lobsters who sing such favorites as “Age of Aquarius,” bringing sheer joy to everyone who sees it. For a great start to your Monday morning, watch the video below! And for more on art cars, click here and here.

Yay!!! I am so glad you posted about this! I was really depressed when I saw this at artscape and had no video camera. Watching that car was such a joy! I may have actually jumped up and down like a 5 year old :)
