France On My Mind
Lately there has been one thing on my mind: France. So while on the subject, here are a few recent vicarious indulgences:
- Grace’s “bonjour” French-inspired product roundup
- Les Carnets du Design – a wonderful design blog in English AND French (benefiting my design knowlege and language skills at the same time)
- Polly-Vous Francais francophile blog (thanks, Dale!)
- Black Eiffel is going to Paris and looking for suggestions, and great cinema suggestions here
- Print & Pattern asked for great Parisien stores for great print and pattern. (read the comments and check July archives for recap)
- French Word-A-Day
- Priceless, starring my favorite, Audrey Tatou – I missed it in the theatres, but can’t wait for it to come on NetFlix
- re-watched L’Auberge Espagnole and Russian Dolls
- French Touche– one of the cutest shops in Paris
P.S. Good news about the dollar here!

Hello lady!
I tend to only stay in my old neighborhoods of Le Marais and La Bastille. If you’ve visted my sight lately you know that I stayed in the 13th with dear friends of mine recently. Don’t ignore other neighborhoods. The 13th has something special going on. I love it! Butte aux Cailles is the hotness in the evening. After my gig in Seoul wraps up, I will definitely make another little trip in Paris. A great website if you want to stay in some swanky apartments (costly but hella’ chic) instead of a hotel, is http://www.nyhabitat.com
The best way to discover Paris is to pick a neighborhood and get to walking. You will find all sorts of great restaurants, cafes and of course, boutiques. Paris has been my home for a long time so I don’t do the shoppy thing’ when I’m there, I visit my favorite neighborhoods and let my feet do the rest.
I’m applying for a job there as well as in Spain. Time will tell, ma belle!
