The World Without Cars
Alas, what would the world be like without cars? New York finds out for the third (and final) weekend of Summer Streets this Saturday from 7am to 1pm for 7 miles between Brooklyn Bridge and Central Park. Keep your eye out for a bike decorating party and impromptu parades. {via Intelligent Travel}
In 2001 the Munster Planning Office (Germany) staged how much space it takes to transport people in cars, by bus and on bike. Very cool. I’m sold! {via A Cup of Jo}

If New York can do it, why can’t my less than 100,000 person population town? I love the idea. Especially since I don’t own a car and get around solely via vintage bicycle.

The post that I did on the Velib sensation in Paris sent a lot of emails my way. It was amazing to ride a bike everyday in Paris for nothing (I used a someone elses card) but it only costs a euro. Guess what! Washington, D.C. will be the first city in the U.S. to use this system of transportation!
Ciao!
