Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston
Over the past year, unbeknownst to myself, I’ve hit three major contemporary museums around the country – the De Young in San Francisco, the New Museum in NYC and now the Institute for Contemporary Art in Boston. Architecture is starting to seep into my blood, I’ve definitely gained an appreciation of buildings and spaces as you make your way through them. And the cool signage and typography that helps you move through them.I loved the views over the water. From the gallery (4th Floor) the giant window wall reminded me a bit of being in an airport, but this time you’re watching boats. And underneath the overhang (with drop down computer lab) there’s a make shift amphitheater for families to gather. The day we were there, there was even live music to accompany the sailboats passing by. More on the building by Diller Scofidio + Renfro here (including design slideshow).
