Tips from Frugalville
Like all great things, the Frugal Traveler’s (Matt Gross) 13 week European adventure (16 countries in 13 weeks on 100 Euros a day) has come to an end. It’s all recapped in Lessons From the Frugal Grand Tour (my favorite tips involve “living like the locals” and “making yourself useful”). Now I’m think my next trip may just have to involve WWOOFing [World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms]. There’s a network all over the world where you can pay a minimal fee (around $15/day) to work on a farm, and in exchange get free lodging and meals (and in the case of Gross, views of the French countryside and to beefed up French skills!). There are tons more great tips and resources, so check out the full article here.

Whoa, yeah very cool space you have here. I don’t know how I found you but glad I did. I have weeks of archiving reading and link following to do. Thanks.

I highly recommend Wwoofing, I did it several times in Europe…email me if you have any questions.
Also, in case you need another reason to plan a trip to NYC…if you can get up here for a Thurs night, you can meet the Frugal Traveler at my bookstore: http://www.booksite.com/texis/scripts/community/eventdetail.html?sid=6665&cal=1&eventid=48b2d4ce3
This post seemed like a good time to mention it :)

This is such a cool suggestion. And hey, we have a tiny organic farm, too:)
