Uncle Ben
Over the past couple weeks I’ve seen billboards like these for Uncle Ben‘s rice pop up all over Baltimore. Personally I think they’re beautiful. Uncle Ben even looks – dare I say – presidential. I haven’t been able to find anything online about the campaign (except for others like me intrigued by the billboards), but I’ll be sure to update if I do.
Has anyone seen these ads in other cities?

I have also been transfixed by these billboards! And yes Uncle Ben looks very distinguished but also like an old friend. I love how they subtlety change them. In one he is in the middle, in the other he is off to the right a bit. Brilliant design!

I love these too – a great retro/Warhol thing going on but still feels really fresh – so nice to have a billboard free of lame slogans…

Agreed, very interesting. I have yet to see this around Missouri. And Tom you are totally right, there is something very Warhol about it.

I love the billboard- though I still don’t think it makes me want to eat Uncle Ben’s rice. -X

i’ve seen a couple of these posters around tampa. at first i thought i was some type of graffiti as it’s similar to some flyposting i’ve seen before. really strange looking but i like it.

I think they’re sort of creepy. The shading on his mouth makes it look like teeth or something. Also I don’t get the marketing principle to use hipsteresque art to sell rice.
