Paris Design Guide

For years people have asked me for advice when it comes to Paris and I did what I could to offer up suggestions though semi-formulated word documents and marked up maps. Technically I’ve been working on this guide for 7.5 years now, but really the big push has come in the past few weeks (including a 3am night on Monday to finish it!). But now I’m beyond thrilled to have a link (and google map!) to send anyone who asks. And thanks to my new French friends – the designers who participated in the roundup – I was able to round out and update all my favorite places. Now to go back and test it out myself :) . . . Click here for the full guide!

P.S. Great photo, ay? My friend David Bacher (who currently lives in Versailles) took it and gave me permission to use it for the piece. Click here to check out his entire portfolio. I particularly love his images from “Paris Plage” – the temporary beach that happens in the city ever summer.

  • You’re a wonder to behold! Just like Paris. Thank you for sharing your list, you’ve mentioned places I haven’t been to in quite some time, I’ll be sure to revisit them when I move back.
    Great list!

  • Wow! What a great list! I feel like heading back to paris toute suite to try it out now :-) Love the eiffel tower image too – your friend is very talented.
Thanks again for sharing all your knowledge on the must-see/do’s etc for paris!

  • Hi,

I just read your Paris guide at Design Sponge. What an extraordinary list! I’m a Francophile at heart, too, and all your suggestions just makes me want to grab my suitcase (LV?) and hop on the plane right this moment!! I can’t wait to visit again in May! I wish I had the time to hit each and every spot, but, sigh, I only have time for a few…but perhaps, a few of those macarons from Laduree will cheer me up!
