Punjab
For several years now I’ve had a thing for photographing food in grocery stores. The other day I had to stop by Punjab, a wonderful local Indian convenience store (on 33rd, near the Saturday Waverly market in Baltimore) to pick up an international phone card (and a yummy samosa while I was at it). I thought it’d be fun to snap a few pics while I was there. Such an unsuspecting hidden gem!
P.S. Check out the Baltimore love in this article in the Washington Post today! The secrets of our charm city is spreading…

I get why You do it. The foreigner products & signs, sometimes in an unfamiliar alphabet… all that daily stuff in such undaily settings.

This shop looks like it stocks my kind of food. I like your idea on this theme. You have captured the essence of what makes a place special – food, culture, people – all in one small shop.

Did they have any bags of Haldiram’s snack mix? That stuff is awesome.

I thought I was the only one who did this. I always feel silly breaking out the camera in the grocery (but it doesn’t stop me!)
