Open Your Eyes

JR expo Paris de Women are Heroes from La Boite Concept.

Isn’t it the worst when you realize you were around when something was happening, but completely missed it? I still can’t get over the fact that I was in Paris this fall during this “Women Are Heros” exhibition, featuring 70 larger than life portraits of women from around the world. I must have been sleeping under a rock or something. . . Thankfully the video more than does it justice. {via fubiz}

  • Gah. I know that feeling. But the post-shock is when my rare uber-gratitude for social media kicks in.

    Nothing beats a good in the flesh moment though. Nothing Nothing. I think that’s why we travel. ^_^

  • I know :( Well, actually, I do remember seeing one of the images on one of the bridges, but I didn’t pay enough attention to it. The video allowed me to show all my family and friends back home though how great Paris is :)

  • Anne,

    Just starting regularly visiting your blog and it’s awesome!

    And I do know that feeling. Argh!

    But THANK YOU for sharing this. Sent chills down my spine.

  • I saw the video yesterday, but I had mixed emotions as the video progressed, so I wanted to show it to my boyfriend and see his reaction. Interestingly, we both had the same reaction.

    I started out loving the video, I loved the concept behind the installation, and just the over all look of it over the walls and the bridge with the Parisian lights as the bg. I found the contrasting comments interesting and at some points agreed with both sides, but as the installation started to lose bits and pieces my mood changed. I thought, ‘hmmm, not looking too pretty now’. But then, when I saw the installation being removed and how they were just letting the residue go down the storm drains and into the river I just gasped.

    I found my whole experience watching the video interesting; the array of emotions and ideas that went through my head in such a short period of time.

    Thanks for sharing, Anne,

    ~ Lizelly :)
