Alternative City Guides
These days I find myself particularly interested in city guides and place branding (so much so that I’m currently working on a final paper based on the way images are used in guidebooks). I’m constantly in search of alternative guides that take an interesting look at a place, and of course I always love good design. So I was immediately struck by the just released GoGoParis.com guide. For only 8 Euros you can download it right here. And as an added bonus, it’s updated every two months.I’ve always been a fan of the Bugaboo Day Trips too. Do you have any favorite city guides?

I really like the intros of the Luxe city guides but their site keeps crashing on me whenever I tried to order it.

These look great! I can never seem to find guidebooks I like. Will definitely check these out.

I always tend to bring a Time Out Guide and a Paper Guide with me but this looks fantastic! And I love how frequently it is updated…

Looks nice! I don’t like city guides actually, I like to do things whenever and wherever I want – and city guides just don’t match that idea. When I really need one I just buy one at a tankstation, haha. But this looks very nice.

Knopf Map Guides are my absolute favorites.
They’re small enough to stash in a coat or a bag and the maps are AMAZING!!
