Allure of the Seas
I spent a semester on a ship traveling around the world. It was an incredible experience, but one of the least memorable aspects was the food (except the thrill of having PB&J on board). If only my friend – and UVA fellow rower – Wright had been chef on board. The other day Wright wrote me to tell me he was selected to be a finalist in the Allure of the Seas Culinary Challenge. It involves a two day cooking contest and interview for the position of Chef de Cuisine for 150 Central Park restaurant aboard the Royal Caribbean vessel Allure of the Seas. The competition included a video portion – which you can see here – and by voting, you can help Wright move up in the ranks. Good luck, Wright!

A real treat to see Wright in action..the food looked amazing. I liked the fact that he enjoys working with young people as well.

So cool. Some of the restaurants on cruises have become amazing. Good luck to your pal!

So cool you were a rower! I rowed in high school and college. Do you still get out there?
Good luck to your friend!

What does “traveling the world” mean? How many countries did you see?
